Step Right Studios Ignite Choreography Comp 2025

Syllabus (Rules and Schedule)

Ignite Choreography Competition is an 'In-house' comp at Step Right Studios to enable any and all students to take the stage with their own choreography. The aim of this annual event is to promote confidence, individual talent and allow non- competitors an opportunity to be involved/watch live dance prior to possibly taking the stage themselves at SRD Concert time.

General Information:

Ignite Choreography Comp is open to ALL StepRight Studios Students and their siblings

*Age cut offs for ALL categories are as at 1 January the year of the competition.

In the event the performer is born ON the 1st January, they can elect which age category they will perform in. Duo/Trio/Group ages are based on the oldest performer in that Duo/Trio/Group.

Competitors enter at their own risk. StepRight Studios accepts NO responsibility for an accident or injury to any persons associated with the event, either as a Competitor, Volunteer or a member of the General Public, at any time.

Competition Director/s can overrule any of the below rules at any time. The Competition Director/s shall decide on any matter not covered by these rules and its decision on any questions or dispute shall be final

Competitor Performance requirements:

Competitors can perform ONCE ONLY in their solo age group, performing ANY STYLE of OWN CHOREOGRAPHY. Competitors can perform in multiple duos/ trios/groups however ONCE ONLY with the same participants. Eg Suzy can perform a duo with her friend Abby once and then also perform a different routine as a trio with her sister Sarah and Sarah's friend Rebecca in their age group.

Time Limit:

A strict Time limit of 1min 30sec is set for Solos, and 2min for Duo/Trio or Groups. Time Limit applies from time Competitor enters the stage.

Music :

All music, lyrics and dance attire MUST be age appropriate

We accept Online Entries ONLY for music. A link to upload music online will be sent out with the Final Programme (as the Final Programme has act numbers) Time limits are the maximum allowed and will be counted from the moment the music or dialogue begins.

Entrants must understand and adhere to copyright responsibilities. Step Right Dance will not be held responsible for any infringement of copyright, royalty or privacy laws by individual performers or persons associated with the performance.

Please be sure to have a backup of your music in the event that we need it. (Backup on another USB, or phone/laptop etc.)

Entry Fee:

Solos $8 + gst = $8.80

Duos/Trios $11 + gst = $12.10

Groups $15.50 + gst = $17.05

Adjudicator:

This is a fun event and the adjudicator will be looking for a love of dance as well as interesting, age appropriate choregraphy created by the performer/s. Choreography is to be the competitors own work without outside correction from parents/teachers. Adjudicator will be a volunteer and at the choosing of SRD Principal. No communication is to be entered into with the adjudicator re decisions made.

Prizes:

Small Prizes will be awarded and are to be confirmed however will be based on the number of entries prior to commencement of the event.
